Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 18, 2015 and join the first graders at Parkview Elementary when they present their spring musical, "Hats (A Musical That Celebrates What’s Underneath)." The students will practice with a dress rehearsal during the day and are required to return for the evening program which will begin at 6:30 pm. Please have your student in their classroom at 6:15 pm so that we can take attendance and prepare for the evening show.

The students have begun working on the music and speaking parts will be assigned soon. Whether they are speakers or singers, it is important that your child knows that everyone is an important member of the musical and has a vital role in our performance. Our production would not be the same without any one of the students.

Costumes will be relatively simple: each student is asked to wear some type of hat (except for warm, winter hats). It might be a hat for a certain sport (baseball hat, football helmet, etc.), a job related hat (baker, construction worker, firefighter, etc.), a party hat or any other crazy hat that you might have. The student may also wear a costume that matches his/her hat. Please remember that masks and animal hats/costumes are not allowed. However, if your student is assigned a particular part/song, you will be notified of any costume needs. Since we will have over 100 students participating, I ask that no one wears shoulder pads or any other "wide" accessories that will take up extra room and prevent the students from doing the hand motions.

It’s been great working with the students on the music. Thank you for the additional work you will do at home. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at
